Subway – Architecture Photography, Beauty in Simplicity

Subtle serenity in the Subway?

“Hard to believe that these are all subway stations.  The German photographer Nick Frank is well known for his stunning shots of urban architecture and I have already published some of his work on WE AND THE COLOR in the past. The selected images are part of a subway photography series that shows amazing shots of underground stations in Munich, Germany. The variety of architectural forms as well as the use of color and light is particularly impressive.”

RepOne has seen much stateside work in underground projects, but nothing as  breathtaking as these photos below, of the Munich system. The simple, yet elegant geometry is synonymous with the commuter – ever in motion, winding and negotiating along backlit glowing tunnels that dissolve into Dr. Who like landscapes.
