It’s Official! RepOne Website Launch

RepOne is pleased to announce the official launch of our website, RepOne.net. We are independent building consultants offering P6 construction scheduling, project estimating, owner representation, and construction expert witness services to building owners, and industry, design, and real estate professionals. We facilitate the technical and practical aspects of our projects so that they may be executed with a minimum of conflict, and a maximum of awareness and acountability.

Our mission is to get our message out to owners, industry professionals – such as construction managers, general and sub-contractors, and design and real estate professionals, in a way that is accessible and relevant to their needs. This requires a harmonious balance of practical and theoretical content, as well as anecdotal and technical elements, according to our clients’ respective criteria. For industry professionals, criteria can be very technical and complex. Yet, for owners, the message is very simple: on time, within budget.

Our mission is to increase awareness of critical aspects of the building and contract management process that are frequently overlooked, or under-utilized. Too often, owners are either uninformed, or put in the position of making decisions they should not have to. Surprisingly, I have found that at the core of even the most technical aspects of the building industry, common sense seems to be the common thread of good practice, and the ideals of good practice go back to the roots of early buildings and their contracts. Think of the Egyptians and their infallible water levels and plumb bobs of 4 millenniums past. Common sense and plain speaking are the lingua franca of a fairly negotiated and executed contract, and successful build-out, as they provide the necessary connections and interfaces for the owner.

Thus, I am often perplexed at how uniformed owners and their building and design teams may be on a given project that has strayed away from good practice. A lot of this has to do with driving forces that encourage partisanship; such as profit-margins and liability. The advent of new building partnerships of private/public sector work and BIM technology is a step in the direction of a more sophisticated and less litigious future of construction contracts. Of course, partnering in private/public sector work and BIM technology has little to do with the much smaller residential sector, or with smaller projects in general; however, we believe the size of the project should not dictate the integrity of project delivery. All owners deserve a project that is contract compliant, and impervious to litigation.

It is with these tenets of partnership, sound communication, and integrity, that we set out to facilitate better projects, with fewer delays, and a minimum of change orders. Most importantly, we endeavor to create a more open and honest dialect in the industry that we hope will improve the integrity of the construction industry.
